We've all seen the show are you smarter than a 5th grader, but you may not be aware of the new spin off. It's called "Are you crazy like Gaius Baltar" in this show contestents battle it out with Battlestar Galactica's Ex President, Genius, cause of humanities downfall and resident kook Gaius Baltar. Psychologists will be in attendance, and willers of the show will recieve an all expences paid trip to a psyc ward.
In order to qualify for the grad prize, players will have to prove their insanity against the following tests:
The MRI, which fearlessly adresses fears that participants have alien chips implanted in their brain, the guilt trip where photos of the victims of participants are presented for reveiw. Double talk is an ever popular segment where particpants hold conversations with friends, real and imaginary, both at the same time. All of these have of cource been constatnts in Gaius's life, but of cource he has recently gone above and beyond normal insanity, leading us to create the show.
The begining of "The one god cult" was simple enough, a dozen insane women, one sick boy, a locked corridor and inscence, throw in a Baltar shrine and have him proform a miricle. So his insanity increases, he can heal the sick, he is the voice of god. And then comes the ultimate...
He's had imaginary girlfriends
He's had imaginary girlfriends with imaginary Gaius's
He's had imaginary girlfriends threaten him, lock him in cells, try to get him executed, stop talking to him, tell him he's insane, and generaly torture him.
And now, shes disapeared, to be replaced by...
An inaginary Gaius. Seriously. How self centered can you get?
Battlestar rocks!
As you all should know, the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Book covers were released today. This is of course the biggest clue to the contents of the seventh and final Harry Potter book since the release of the title it’s self. This, by all accounts didn’t give us much information other than it is going to be “Deathly” which most of us knew already.
So, as I have asked all of you to create an in depth analysis of the three covers, I thought I better do one myself, and because I want my Vox to be pretty, I’m putting in pictures as evidence (I am such a good little lit student)
Firstly, the adult cover. Although there doesn’t seem to be mush to analyze here, last lime it was this cover which provided the biggest clues. It contained a picture of a potions book, and to any astute literature, should have immediately suggested Snape!
Here we clearly see a necklace, with a bronze, or old gold appearance, and many small green jewels set into an elaborate “S”. We may assume based on our previous knowledge that this “S” is representative of Salzar Slytherin, and therefore that this is the locket which belonged first to this mythical figure and eventually fell into the hands of Voldemort, supposedly becoming a Horcrux. While the metallic finish and elaborate “S” suggest age, and perhaps a lack of polishing, the Jewels seem to be in pristine condition. The shape of the S along with the green Jewels seem to have snake like connotations. We may assume that these Jewels are Emeralds, which may or may not be in reference to the famous Tattie. Emeralds (according to dictionary.com’s entomology section) the Hebrew word bareqeth meaning emerald came from the Arabic barq or “Lightning” this of course has deep connections to Harry, and is perhaps another link between Voldemort and his opponent. It is also an acronym for “Enhanced Measurement for Early Risk Assessment of Latent Defects” although what relevance this has, is yet to be discovered.
This image is clearly that of Harry’s Patronus, a Stag, which was of course his fathers animagus form. Its appearance on the cover can be interpreted in one of thee ways, as a symbol of James, a symbol of protection, or as a reference to the order of the phoenix (don’t worry I will explain.) Firstly, the Patronus has always been a symbol of Harry’s connection with his father. This may indicate that Harry will once again find a connection to his father, perhaps by visiting his grave. The second more obvious interpretation is that Harry will use it for protection, either from dementors or other foes. Finally it may be in reference to the order of the phoenix, who use their patronus’s to communicate.
Also, this stag appears to be very happy. It is reminiscent of the scene where Harry reaches to touch his patronus, but disappears before he does.
The stag is representative of a stag party. Perhaps Bill and Fleur’s wedding? Or of going on ones own, or an all male activity. This indicates that either Hermione will die or that Harry will go on by himself. Perhaps even both.
The Stag is also a common symbol on shields notably that of Hertfordshire, perhaps indicating that Harry is going to visit this location. In this case the stag is a Stag Trippant of a Purple Field. Perhaps Marie will be able to better interpret this.
That’s it for part one of my analysis! Stay tuned for part two, analyzing the front cover of the UK Children’s addition.
And I’m not talking about lost. I’m talking about my once annual period of insanity…nanowrimo! And It’s about to begin…
